Why Use Acupressure?Imagine how different your program will be when you get pain relief like this in less than 10 minutes.
This report outlines how you can do that and how this could lead to a personal self-care revolution that can happen today. Stressaway
Acupressure An Affordable Self-Care OptionAs medical costs keep rising, many communities are looking for options. The national cost of chronic pain has been estimated to be close to $12,000 per person per year. It is more expensive than heart disease, cancer and diabetes. On top of that, treating people for addiction to drugs used for pain is extremely costly, and pain medications have been a major driver of the heroin epidemic. The focus of this proposal is to provide communities with a low-cost health alternative that has the potential to lessen the cost of health-care services and improve the quality of care. Stressaway Acupressure is based on a 5,000-year-old healing method. Our initial studies show a 78 percent reduction of pain in about five minutes using this combination of reflexology and acupressure. The program is intended to encourage healing, relieve pain and potentially reduce the need for unnecessary tests, invasive procedures and addictive drugs. Beginning with Natural ApproachesIn Traditional Chinese Medicine, healing methods range from the most natural to the most intrusive. Natural approaches such as breathing exercises, dietary therapy, acupressure and herbology are used as hands-on methods. When additional treatment is needed, more complex approaches such as acupuncture and chiropractic care may be considered. Drugs and surgery are generally more invasive approaches and may be accompanied by side effects and higher costs. Sustainable Health Alternatives, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, developed Stressaway Acupressure as a low-cost method of reaching people and teaching them how to use acupressure early in this sequence. The program teaches a sustainable and self-reliant health practice to participants and caregivers. Free and affordable online information is offered as an early option. A flyer, a small book and an acupressure tool are also available. Participants can begin online training and learn how to work with their pain on their own. Results Reported by ParticipantsNinety-five percent of users in our research reported some immediate benefit. The research also reports that 37 percent of participants were completely free of their pain in less than 10 minutes. Some people will require conventional treatments, but the continuing question should be: What is the least treatment necessary to resolve the condition? Key Benefits of the Program
These benefits have the potential to reduce medical costs through fewer office visits, less time required with each patient, fewer expensive tests and therapies, fewer surgeries, reduced drug use and addiction, shorter hospital stays, fewer readmissions, and fewer negative medical side effects and errors.
